Steven M. Arkin, CPA/CFF, CVA

Arkin & Associates, P.C. is owned and managed by Steven Arkin. Mr. Arkin was a partner/shareholder with some local CPA firms for 16 years before opening Arkin & Associates. Prior to this Mr. Arkin was a Tax Manager with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche, LLP) in Atlanta, GA office and was an auditor in the Washington, D.C. office of Arthur Andersen & Co.

Arkin is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF),a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP).

Arkin holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting with Distinction from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a Masters of Taxation from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA.

He is a frequent lecturer in taxation and business valuation and has been an expert witness in many court cases.

In additon to numerous awards, Arkin was named the Small Business Administration (SBA) Accountant of the Year for 2001 for Georgia and the 11 states comprising the Southeastern United States.

Tammy Edge

Tammy has been with Arkin & Associates, PC since its founding in 2004, serving as lead bookkeeper. Prior to her work at Arkin, she has held positions at other CPA firms in the Savannah area, as well as performing bookkeeping services directly for several local businesses. Tammy has been a bookkeeper since 1995 and she is QuickBooks Certified.

Dan Mahowald

Dan Mahowald is runs our "CFO to Go" program here at Arkin & Associates and has helped numerous clients in organizing not only their infrastructure but their overall business process flow.  In addition, he is a senior level tax accountant and IT strategy professional. Prior to coming to Arkin, Dan was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Friedman's Jewelers and has successfully implemented numerous systems and processes to help clients of all sizes.

Kristin Ellis Lea

Kristin has worked for Arkin & Associates, PC since December 2009. She graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics. She is currently working on getting her first paper published concerning the rational residuacity of primes. She is currently working as the office administrator here at Arkin & Associates, PC.
